76ers Guard To Miss Three To Four Weeks

Tyrese Maxey's Injury: A Blow to Philly's Playoff Hopes

76ers Guard to Miss Three to Four Weeks

Embiid Struggles Without Maxey as Knicks Tie Series

The Philadelphia 76ers have suffered a significant blow to their playoff hopes with the news that guard Tyrese Maxey will miss the next three to four weeks with a bone injury.

Maxey, who has been one of the team's most consistent performers this season, left Wednesday's Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the New York Knicks with a foot injury. X-rays later revealed a small fracture, with an initial diagnosis suggesting a three to four-week recovery timeline.

The injury is a major setback for the 76ers, who lost Game 4 by a score of 112-108. Without Maxey, the team's offense struggled to generate consistent scoring, with Joel Embiid shooting just 7 for 19 and committing nine turnovers.

Embiid's performance was particularly disappointing considering that he had been averaging 26.8 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in the playoffs prior to Maxey's injury. The Knicks took advantage of Embiid's struggles, with Mitchell Robinson taking control of the paint in Maxey's absence.

With Maxey out, the 76ers will need to find a way to fill the void on the offensive end. Shake Milton is likely to see an increased role, but he has struggled to perform consistently this season. Furkan Korkmaz could also see his minutes increase, but he is not known for his scoring ability.

The 76ers now trail the Knicks 2-2 in the series, and they will need to find a way to win Game 5 on Friday if they want to avoid going down 3-2. Without Maxey, the task will be even more difficult, but the team will need to rally together if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
