Baltimore, MD - May 18, 2024 - In a dramatic turn of events on a rain-soaked Pimlico Race Course, Seize the Grey emerged victorious in the 2024 Preakness Stakes, crushing the Triple Crown hopes of Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan.

With the track conditions less than ideal due to heavy rainfall, Seize the Grey took the early lead and never relinquished it. Despite a determined effort from Mystik Dan in the homestretch, Seize the Grey held strong, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:56.82.
Mystik Dan, who became only the fifth horse in history to win the Kentucky Derby at age two, was denied the chance to capture the second leg of the Triple Crown. His second-place finish effectively ends any hopes of claiming the prestigious title in 2024.
